「有愛，就有生命的光亮！」民進黨總統參選人蔡英文29日晩間在臉書貼出一支為台灣同志遊行宣傳的影片，影片結尾附上「生而平權」的標語，並附上同志遊行的相關資訊及官方網站，同時蔡英文競選總部大樓外牆，也打上彩虹光束，響應同志遊行。
蔡英文臉書還引用已故搖滾樂手披頭四成員約翰藍儂的名言「It matters not who you love, where you love, why you love, when you love or how you love, it matters only that you love.」藉此響應同志遊行。
約翰藍儂於75歲冥誕時，蔡英文也曾貼出這句名言，她當時寫說，藍儂教導大家無論面對多少現實的挑戰，都不能丟棄「想像一個更美好的世界」的勇氣。
網友大多對蔡英文支持婚姻平權表示贊同看法，有網友留言「若上任後能通過同志婚姻法，才是對同志的最大支持」、「愛不分性別不分年齡也不分政黨」，不過也有網友質疑，若沒有盡速制訂相關政策，則有「騙選票」的嫌疑。
